My First Interview

Being seventeen and on my first TV interview was thrilling.

Both nervous and fun, I put my suit on, I had my hair done, and I made my little background to show off my creativity (hahaha). Of course, I was nervous, because this is my first interview ever—but I was really just looking forward to the future!!

To explain some about what happened, I was sat behind my desk so I could put my poster on the wall for my background, the interview was on zoom, and it was to share word about my book (Where Snow Doesn’t Fall)!

I learned that, even though it was nerve-wracking at the time, being interviewed wasn’t actually as scary as I imagined it being. I did stutter, and had my mess-ups hahaha, but y’know what, it was a good learning experience!

Albeit, once the interview was finished, I was relieved—felt pretty accomplished with myself, and glad I gone through with it.

So, yep, I survived. You guys should check it out—spoiler alert, I said “you too” when I was told “thank you for being here with us today.”

I also react to the video on my YouTube channel, so feel free to check it out there as well!

If I had to give any of you guys a tip on interviewing, it’d be to know a lot about your topic, nerdy about it you could say, so that when you’re asked questions you don’t expect, you can answer with perfect speed and accuracy! And also wear confidence on your sleeve, it always looks good!

EllyiN out !
