Name: Yin
Nicknames: Goofalot, Nachos, Ignacio, Nips, (more to be updated)
Alias: GoofyNachos
-
Yin is affiliated with The Meme Squad, a group of Escapists, otherwise known as criminals, in a world where pranks are illegal.
Her role is to create, encourage, and help the Squad prank people and each other, whilst also specifically being the one who teleports them out of trouble.
In Volume 1, her role is to be transportation, a prankster, and a friend.
-
Yin is first seen in the very beginning of Book 1.
-
Yin is 5’4 ft (163 cm)
She has relatively white hair, although it’s originally blonde. Over the series she alternates between styles (using purple shampoo), although she does have fun wearing different wigs, so her hair can change up frequently, especially when she’s ‘disguising herself.’
Peach skin, gray-ish-green eyes, overall simple design.
-
Her eyes alternate between brown-gray and green (mostly ‘cause I can’t decide on one)
Otherwise she doesn’t really have any notable features other than a very small scar on the outer corner of her left eye (lol)

Personality
-
Yin is an outgoing prankster who enjoys making people laughing, teasing and messing with her friends, and turning ordinary situations into ridiculous ones.
She’s fond of banter, experimenting with strange homemade gadgets, and finding new ways to cause harmless chaos.
As an Escapist on the run, she’s also a troublemaker with a knack for getting herself into questionable situations. She enjoys good food, good company, and pretty much anything that makes life more entertaining.
-
Likes -
Favorite foods / drinks: asparagus, sweet lemon tea, watermelon, tacos
Joking around, laughing in general, and remembering or retelling funny stories
Making homemade funky gadgets for convenience or entertainment purposes
Competition
The color yellow (and occasionally cyan)
Dislikes -
Honey
Letting her nails grow out too much
-
Like most citizens of Edyn and Idyll, she has a habit of controlling her emotions and behavior, especially in public. As a result, negative emotions such as fear, annoyance, or sadness, typically last mere seconds before disappearing naturally. Not to say it’s forced away, it just doesn’t last long, and whatever expression that follows is her being dramatic.
Biting her palm / hand to stop herself from laughing out loud.
Looking for and finding quarters.
Loves sunbathing and the sunlight in general.
-
Yin’s sense of humor comes from her fondness for teasing to get reactions out of people. Teasing could come from joking around to rage-bait, so it comes in many forms.
She’s sarcastic, a little bit impulsive, playful, and witty.
-
Socially:
In public, Yin is kind, polite, playful, and overall in a good mood and ready to talk to anyone. She could make small or big conversations just on the street.
Within her friend group, she’s still a nice person, but she does enjoy occasionally annoying those she’s close with, goofing around, speaking ‘slang’ and ‘negatively’ (such as phrases like ‘that sucked’ or ‘I can’t believe you made him cry’). She’ll essentially be more likely to smack-talk her friends whilst being funny about it.
Reaction to situations:
When something unexpected happens, she’ll most likely laugh.
If it’s scary, she’ll be scared and scream, but when it’s over, she’ll laugh.
Communication style:
Yin is usually very talkative and bubbly.
Sometimes turns conversations into competitions.
Likes to understand someone’s viewpoint on particular things but may ask them in a roundabout way.
Behavior under pressure:
When something goes wrong, and it’s not funny or entertaining, Yin gives it some thought but doesn’t immediately assume the worse. Depends on the situation, but in general, she starts thinking of what’s important now and what’s going to be done next.
Relationships
-
(During Volume 1 (to be updated))
Krow
Best friends and huge sibling-dynamic.
I’d joke they’re brother-sister from other misters.
Kyle
Best friends and huge sibling-dynamic (as you’ll see often with nearly every character, but feel free to ship respectfully)
He’d be the annoying older brother that you still follow and laugh with.
Eric
Best friends and huge sibling-dynamic.
Yin likes to aura-farm with him and mess with Krow and Kyle together.
Kali
Girl besties.
Laugh together, shop together, chat it up. They aren’t always hanging out, but when they do, they click.
Sebastian
Flirt buddies and good friends. All romantic stuff is playful and nothing serious, which is their favorite thing about friendly flirting.
Daito
A surprising friend considering he’s technically trying to capture her, but Yin has nothing against it and actually considers him a good friend.
They have a huge sibling-dynamic.

(During Volume 1 (to be updated))
Mr. Finch
Yin doesn’t necessarily hate him, but she doesn’t like him.
Because of their feud, they’re enemies.
Hinto
I’d put him in rivals only because he works for Finch, but having only seen him a couple times, Yin doesn’t know nor mind him.
Sol Esther
She has nothing against Sol, but since he’s primarily the Meme Squad’s main target for pranks, Sol is her rival.
Sky
Same with Sky, he’s just her rival. He’s after the Squad as well. Although she would almost consider him a friend, because he’s funny, though she doesn’t know him enough yet.
Lisana
Yin currently doesn’t know much about Lisana.
Holds no negative feelings against her, but since she’s after the Meme Squad, they’re naturally rivals.
Cash
Meme Squad’s opp. She finds him particularly a good target to annoy because his reactions are funny.
Ash
Doesn’t know anything about her for the most part, just that she’s the Meme Squad’s opp.
(Partially) Kyle, Krow, Eric
She’s constantly competing with them, whether it be through video games, whoever’s got the most salt on their pretzel, or who made the best prank.

(No current known family)
-
(During Volume 1 (to be updated))
Baxter
Known as Uncle Gramps, Baxter has an important connection to Yin primarily seen by their father-daughter dynamic.
Alfred
Also known to have a sort of father-daughter dynamic with Yin, Alfred is seen as a caretaker and Guardian to Yin, giving them a wholesome connection.
Daito
I think personally their dynamic is particularly important for stories to come. Primarily it’s their sibling-dynamic, which is common in WSDF, but the roles are reversed a little at times, with Daito seemingly being the ‘younger’ brother despite being older.
That, and to me, they’re surprisingly similar in a lot of ways.
-
In Volume 1, her role is to be transportation, a prankster, and a friend.
In the entire series, her role is pretty much the same. She is one of the most reliable narrators in the series and follows the Meme Squad into adventures they never can anticipate.
Her job is to have fun.
-
In the very beginning of book 1, Yin’s life-goal was to create Wrist Gadgets (what she calls her teleporters).
Thanks to a device she had taken from Mr. Finch (that was essentially something she had a blueprint for), her life-long goal turned into something achievable in a few nights, being easier than expected.
Over the course of book 1, Yin’s goals begin to change thanks to the new set of circumstances she’s given: and now? She not only wants to be a prankster, and not just an Escapist, but she’s determined to live a life where she can always laugh about something.
And she ends up having a lot to joke about.
That becomes increasingly obvious with how much trouble she and her friends end up in. But in her opinion, it’s worth the fun.
