How It All Started…
It all started when my sister reintroduced me to this indie game.
I’m not expecting it to be a secret for long, which game it was, but I’m not going to outright say it just yet. Regardless, I made a fanfic on it, and it took about a year and a half to finish it. A bit over 500k words, or uh, like five+ books. Right, that’s like, stacked 1000 pages. Anyway, enough of my bragging, onto the tea.
I began this fanfic because I couldn’t find what I seriously, fricking wanted. Why? Why couldn’t I find something funny, not too serious, and nothing overly inappropriate? Dang, it was too much to ask for!!
So, I had to write it myself.
That said, there were a few times I almost gave up. But my biggest drive at the time? I always hated seeing a fanfic unfished. I mean, it was pretty sad, so I was determined to never do that myself.
And so I kept writing. But I didn’t post it yet—not until my Mom convinced me to. My ego and comfort zone was working against me, as it took a frustratingly long time to post one damn chapter, but my Mom was there pushing me to do it, saying that it will be worth it.
Guess what? She was right.
After posting the first chapter, I got comments! People liked it! I was so thrilled, so happy, couldn’t believe it!
So I started writing more and more, my updates were consistent. Two-three chapters a week, and sometimes I would take ‘off days,’ but honestly, I was still writing then too, just not posting yet.
My fans kept me going a lot. Not that I’m saying I had a hard time writing. Not at all. I loved writing, it was so fun and honestly, it still is. I love to write.
And I was encouraged to have breaks, which was very sweet, because I was happy to hear they cared about me! I did take breaks, everyone needs some to not get burnout, but damn was I ready to write.
So, with my love for writing, and my love for sharing it with people who love it as well, I was set up for this future of mine. This career. This lifestyle.
I had become an Author.
